Your neighbourhood and community
We want to make sure we are giving the best possible service to you, your family and the community you live in.
We work with other agencies and organisations in your community to provide you not only with good quality housing, but with services that help to keep your community safe, clean and happy, and somewhere you want to keep living in.
Visiting your neighbourhood
We visit your neighbourhood as often as we can. We inspect all our schemes and estates often, and hold scheme and estate walkabouts where we invite you to join in and help us identify any problems or areas that need improving.
Getting involved
By getting involved, you can help to improve the services in your home and life in your community. We have lots of ways in which you can get involved and help make a difference, as little or as much as you choose, and whatever involvement you have will be very welcome. Please visit our ways to get involved page for more information on how to get involved.
Your safety and security and how we tackle anti-social behaviour
Your safety and security is our main priority.
If it is put at risk by anti-social behaviour, we will work with you and other agencies, like the police, to stop it.
We describe anti-social behaviour as any behaviour that involves noise, nuisance, annoying behaviour, intimidation, anything illegal, using our homes for unlawful purposes, vandalism or litter dumping, or anything that affects our housing management service.
We investigate all reports that are made, and consider all the practical and legal action we can take. If the threat involves harm, the threat of harm, or racial or other harassment, we will act on it as soon as possible, but definitely within 24 hours.
We have a number of ways in which we try to resolve anti-social behaviour. We interview victims and perpetrators, provide mediation for the parties involved, and collect and record evidence to build cases. The penalties for perpetrators are severe and could result in them losing their homes.
For more information on anti-social behaviour, please read our leaflet. If you are a victim of anti-social behaviour, there is no need to suffer in silence. Please contact your area management team immediately.
Helping our residents to live independently
Some of our residents’ needs may change and, to help keep them living safely and independently in their homes and the community they are used to, we can provide support and advice for adapting their home to suit their needs. We can also help them access services to help them manage their home and their tenancies.
Your community’s environment
We take our responsibility to the environment very seriously, and work closely with partners in our communities to provide grants for residents from energy suppliers to improve the insulation of their homes and reduce energy and fuel bills. Where possible, our new homes are built to the highest environmental standards. Our caring for the environment leaflet contains lots of hints and tips which could help you reduce the energy output of your home.
