Reporting Repairs

We aim to make reporting a repair as easy as possible. Your handbook, tenancy agreement or lease will identify all your rights and responsibilities as well as what sort of repairs the Organisation will undertake for you and which repairs we expect you to be able to take care of yourself.


REPORTING REPAIRS

Our partnering contractor, Connaught Ltd. are your first point of contact to report a repair. Call them between 9am and 5:00 pm on:

Outside office hours and at weekends emergency repairs only (blocked w.c., flooding, complete power supply failure or dangerous buildings) should be reported by telephoning the emergency out of hours service on the same telephone number.

Please click on the spanner to send an email reporting a repair. Describe the repair as accurately as you can and we will contact you by the method you indicate to arrange a time to visit your home when you are there, and to carry out the work. Include your name, address and contact details.

ARRANGING A REPAIR

If it is an emergency outside office hours, telephone the emergency repairs number 0800 373 826 . See Emergencies.

If you are a resident of Accent Peerless and need to report a repair, unless it is a gas repair, you can:

  • Use our online repairs form
  • Telephone our partnering contractor, Connaught, on 0800  373 826
  • Fax us on 01276 852901
  • Write to, or call in at, our offices at Station House

When will the repair be done? We aim to deal with all repairs as quickly as we can. Some are more urgent than others and we give these priority (see Repair definitions). We aim to complete all repairs within the time limits set out below.

Emergency & Urgent Repairs = Within 24 hours
Less Urgent  = Within 7 days
Routine = Within 28 days

When reporting a repair, please give us these details: 

  •  Your name, address and telephone number
  • What is wrong, giving as much detail as possible so we know
  • What needs to be done and the materials to bring
  • When you can be at home to let the contractor in.

What are Accent Peerless' repair responsibilities?

Accent Peerless is responsible for keeping in good repair the structure and outside of the premises together with the heating, hot water and sanitation systems in your home.

What are your repair responsibilities?

As a resident, you are responsible for the following repairs:

» EXTERIOR

You are responsible for carrying out any work necessary as a result of damage by you, someone in your household or a visitor. If damage is caused by vandalism, you must report it to the police, obtain a crime number and then contact our maintenance team.

If Accent Peerless carries out repairs that are found not to be due to fair wear and tear, you may be charged for the work. If we have to call a locksmith to release a door, replace keys or replace the lock you will be charged for the cost.
